Explore IPUMS Household-Person Microdata Collection Metadata
At this time, there is not API support for metadata for our household-person microdata collections. While we hope to provide support in the future, it is possible to use the IPUMS website to gather all of the necessary information to make a request to the IPUMS API. This includes information such as sample IDs and variable mnemonics.
In particular, we’d like to draw your attention to:
- USA
- Sample listing on the IPUMS USA sample IDs page.
- The variable mnemonics are displayed when viewing variables in the IPUMS USA extract building interface.
- CPS
- Sample listing on the IPUMS CPS sample IDs page.
- The variable mnemonics are displayed when viewing variables in the IPUMS CPS extract building interface.
- International
- Sample listing on the IPUMS International sample IDs page.
- The variable mnemonics are displayed when viewing variables in the IPUMS International extract building interface.
